Beyond Blue - The Aesthetics of Cute

As the basis for my project I borrowed the advertising strategy already used by Beyond Blue. This strategy involved a promotional poster campaign designed to raise awareness of extent of mental health issues throughout the community ending in a call to action to call their counseling hotline.

 

My project aimed to ‘cuteify’ these posters while maintaining the facts, statistics and call to action. These posters would be visually interesting and attract the public through their ‘cute’ aesthetic, they also hopefully would provide comfort, both through their illustrative style and through the information they provide on the issue (demonstrating that these issues are widely felt and experienced throughout society).
